Meet the Snowplow team.

Alexander Dean Tech Lead

Alex is a passionate technologist, with a keen interest in functional programming, big data technologies and cloud-based architectures. Although he has been programming since he was five, Alex has always been a polymath: he has a 1st in History from the University of Cambridge and worked as a strategy consultant at both Keplar LLP and Fathom Partners (since bought by ?What If Innovation!) as well as working in technical roles at OpenX (where he managed the build of the OpenX Market) and in the Business Intelligence team at Deloitte.

At Snowplow, Alex leads the development on the Snowplow platform and the development of the new Digital Event Grammar.

Yali Sassoon Analytics Lead

Yali is a passionate data analyst, which is just as well because he has been crunching data for his entire working life: to improve operations at AP Moeller Maersk and Vestas Wind Systems, to drive strategic decision making for clients at PwC Strategy and Keplar LLP, and both strategic and operational analytics at OpenX Technologies. Yali has an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Science and a BA in Natural Sciences, both from the University of Cambridge.

At Snowplow, Yali leads on the developing ways to use Snowplow data: including to drive decision-making, understand audience, optimize budgets and deliver personalized experiences.

Fred Blundun Data Engineer

Fred joins the Snowplow engineering team fresh out of Trinity College, Cambridge University, where he studied Mathematics, specializing in Graph Theory, Logic and Sets and Number Theory. Since finishing his studies, Fred has discovered a love of coding and at Snowplow has thrown himself into Javascript, Ruby and Scala with gusto.

When Fred's not building data pipelines, he can often be found playing board games (chess, Shogi and Go) or juggling. Don't mess with Fred - he was Captain of the shooting team at Westminster School.

Josh Beemster Data Engineer

Josh joined the Snowplow engineering team on his arrival in Europe from Sydney Australia, where he was a Usability Practioner at Appliances Online. At Snowplow Josh is cultivating his deep love of computers, a love cultivated not only through his building of data pipelines, but also his studies in Computer Sciences at Charles Sturt University. When Josh isn't studying or working, he can often be found building computers or playing games on them. On the rare occasions he's not at his computer, he's most likely snowboarding or travelling.

At Snowplow, Josh has trained in the arts of Scala, Java and PHP.

Christophe Bogaert Data Scientist

Christophe has joined the Snowplow team after completing a Data Analysis internship at Songkick and an MSc in Management at the London School of Economics.

Hailing from Belgium, Christophe graduated with an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Leuven, before coming to London study Management and complete an internship in Sales Finance at Google.

At Google Christophe first got a taste for big data processing, using both Dremel and R - something he's built on at Snowplow developing the data modeling section in the data pipeline and porting it to Spark.

When he's not practicing data science, Christophe enjoys cooking, photography, skiing and rock climbing.
